DR Melo aka Thee Promo Machine aka Doc Melo:
Jose Reyes Jr, was born in El Paso, TX; attended Socorro High School and played baseball with MLB Shortstop, Omar Quintanilla.
After graduating high school he immediately joined the military in 2000. Served with the 173rd Airborne Bde in 2003 in Kirkuk, Iraq; chose to pass up one of the few Airborne jumps in history. He gave the once in a life time opportunity to one of his pals, because he wasn’t to enthused about the idea and felt as if he did not deserve to take away such an occasion from someone that was waiting for something as important as this. At times he comments in a joking manner, “I declined history because I wanted to make my own, lol!” While in Iraq, DR Melo met R&B singer Bianco from Houston, TX. Even with such predicament, Bianco continued working on his music, and DR Melo began to work with him. While using the time as productive as possible and under the influence of Bianco; DR Melo learned more about the music industry, and picked up tips on how to sing for live audiences.
After Iraq, DR Melo chauffeured for Bianco in Italy and the entourage of Charrolastras. After a short period attending performances with Bianco, DR Melo relocated to Colorado. Finishing his service with the National Guard, he met talented new comer M.R.S in 2004. Inspired by the young talent, he decided to continue what some had mentioned before about his singing; and with them created A.D.A.P.T. (As Deep As Poetry Team). In 2008 DR Melo met Joseph JR from Young King Nation and was featured on one of JR’s authentic beat. Deeper Than Poetry Ent. and Young King Nation united to collaborate, and are actively building their business resume; frequently producing mixtapes, and constantly seeking opportunities to expand musically. On August 2014 Andy Herrera; DJ Kane's manager & President of URBANO LEGACY RECORDS, offered Jose Reyes Jr the position of A&R Midwest Representative. In 2015 DR Melo was assigned Promotions Director for EARWAX and did a national tour around the USA. He went on a National Promotional tour visiting every stadium in the MLB and promoted their new album EARWAX.
