Hailing from Buffalo New York, Pollock is an ambient metal/hard rock band with intense rhythms and unique time signatures. The vocals borrow elements from poetry, the occult, and mythology, making a blend of melodies that envelope the listener. When accompanied by their dynamic stage presence, the music is reminiscent of the band’s namesake Jackson Pollock, and the idea of bringing an art form to life.  Awash in a sea of cerebral percussion and emotional swells, Pollock continues to bring the heavy and huge sound that has become the band's trademark. The band combines the sonic mass of bands like Mastodon and Baroness with the elegant complexity and technicality of bands like Tool and Protest the Hero, then top it off with Billy Corgan-esque songwriting. Intricate and driving verses hook the intellect, and then explode into lush, expansive choruses. The ever changing mood of the songs is enhanced by layers of strings and percussion; a unique sound that is simultaneously dark, uplifting, heavy, and like a dream. Pollock joined the Buffalo music scene in July, 2005. Since then, the band has procured a faithful fan base, toured the Northeastern and mid-western U.S., and released multiple albums. After founding band member Joshua Klein, was sidelined due to a severe injury in 2007, the band had to remain static for 2 1/2 painstakingly long years, which nearly ended things for the group.  Fortunately, upon Klein’s recovery, the band broke out on the Buffalo music scene with the Valentine EP (released in October 2010) and spent the following two years opening for national acts and touring regionally. In the late spring of 2012, the band released a follow up EP, La Fin Du Monde, which landed them a first place award in the loud rock/metal category of WBNY’s Western NY Music Awards. On January 19th of this year, Pollock released their much anticipated 12 track LP, The Moonlight Show.   In the vast network of today's music and its many markets, it's become incredibly difficult for bands to differentiate themselves from the Fray.  By encompassing elements that not only appease, but please the average listeners, critics, diehard metal fans, and the prog-rock fanatics, Pollock is standing out among their contemporaries as a band that can't be pigeonholed into a subgenre.  The biggest highlighted since the bands release of The Moonlight Show, has been the rapidly growing, eclectic fan base that is emerged; though metalheads remain at the core of Pollock's fan base, listeners from all walks of life and musical tribes are embracing this album as their own.   The band is currently in the writing process of their new album which will be taking the band in a heavier direction; no release date at this time. They also have plans to continue touring extensively. Keep tabs on their Facebook, Twitter pages and website to see if they’ll be playing in a city near you!   Band Line Up: Vocals, Guitar- Joshua Klein Guitar- Brian Platter Bass Guitar, Backing vocals- Lindsay Leyland Piano, Keyboards-Aaron Chiz Drums- Jake Klimchuk
