||5 A.M. EP—2004; Left Standing LP—2002
About the ArtistLyle King has been playing music in the Burlington Vermont music scene for several years; however, he truly emerged in 2001 when he won the Advance Music Acoustic Guitar Search. King followed that up with his CD debut, Left Standing, in 2002. Amy Robson of Leftoffthedial.com said of Left Standing, “This CD is a must have for any fan of acoustic rock and any fan of pure and passionate music.”
After several years playing around Vermont at venues like Higher Ground and Radio Bean, King returned to the studio to record the acoustic EP, 5 A.M., which offers listeners an opportunity to experience Lyle as he often performs live; just his songs, the “superbly understated six-string flourishes [of his guitar]” (Ethan Covey - Seven Days), and “his voice [which] is the real appeal: clear, burnished, impassioned, with the teeniest touch of vibrato.” (Pamela Polston - Seven Days).
