Bourée

A Bourée is a Medieval French dance. Two such dances were woven into the Firedance rhythm by Michael Franklin on his Hurdy-Gurdy. Namely, "L'Orientale" by Mick Baudimont and "Les Trois Canards" by Bernard Blanc. Medieval street music predates Classical music; but it offers yet another distinction: that of being composed and performed by the common folk. It is the music of festivals and lively dance, which is why it is so much fun to perform.
