Born Soul, born Kelly Hancock, was discovered by an up and coming record executive while playing his demo for a friend at his job. The executive agreed to pay for any and all recordings in order for Born Soul to peace together his first album. In April 1998, Born Soul released his first album titled "From the Beginning to the End." He, along with two of his partners, established Born Soul Productions, which managed to release a compilation album titled "Alumnyh, The Album" in 1999, and Born Soul's second solo release titled "Blacker the Berry, Sweeter the Juice" in May 2001. His third and fourth releases ("Tunnel Vision" 2004 and "Relax the Mind and the P Comes Free" 2007) soon followed. Along with his four albums, he has produced and arranged several intros for DJs the local community radio station KAZI 88.7 FM in Austin, Texas. What style does Born Soul bring to the Hip-Hop/Rap game, hmmmm, great question? You really can't put a label or a style on the type of music Born Soul does. His melodic and bass heavy beats blend perfectly with his smooth southern delivery. He has a little bit of everything from east, Mid-West, to down south, along with a little bit west coast. I guess that is why his music is so refreshing to listen to. What's Next Born Soul's new single "I'm Goin In" from the upcoming mixtape titled "ClockWork Orange," is now available on iTunes. The mixtape is scheduled to release in Spring 2011, followed by the full length album in Fall 2011.
