“We want to be positive and entertain,” says Dirty Heads vocalist Jared Watson. “We just want to make you feel good.”
Those feel-good roots of the Dirty Heads are grounded in the Orange County community of Huntington Beach. Founded nearly a decade ago by Watson and guitarist/vocalist Dustin Bushnell, the Dirty Heads humble beginnings feature too many late night sessions in the garage with nothing but a four-track recorder and an abundance of great ideas.
Years later with an extensive tour history under their belts and a solid fan base the band have played with bands like 311, Matisyahu, Unwritten Law, Fishbone, Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, Kottonmouth Kings, B-Foundation, OPM, Rock the Bells, and many more.
Some strategic music placements have also contributed to the growing awareness of the band including the Summer blockbuster hit movie and soundtrack for “Surf’s Up” (Sony 2007). They were also featured in the television drama “Shark” staring James Woods (CBS 2007), Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam” video game (Activsion 2007), and the upcoming release from Matthew McConaughey called “Surfer Dude” in theatres later this year.
Dirty Heads forthcoming album “Any Port in a Storm” is set to release September 23rd, 2008 on EMG Fontana/Universal.
