Enjoy Your Pumas is a female-fronted indie pop/rock quintet that blends powerful soaring vocals with atmospheric guitars and a punchy, energetic rhythm section. Their infectious, genre-defying music has fans of all styles jumping out of their seats. Their sound is akin to Emily Haines fronting Bloc Party covering Radiohead. October 2009 saw the re-release of Ink: The EP (originally recorded in 2007), featuring three newly recorded downloadable tracks. The single "Weight of the Circles" reached the Top Ten on Winnipeg indie station Kick FM and has received heavy airplay on Winnipeg stations Curve 94.3, Hot 103, as well as CBC Radio. The EP achieved a review of A+ from Uptown Magazine's Jared Story, who called it "a dynamic and diverse recording." The online independent music retailer CD Baby liked it as well, calling it one of the "Top Ten Alternative Albums of 2009." Recently, the band was featured on HOT 103's Children's Hospital benefit album, performing their version of Ricky Wilde's "I Am An Astronaut." Their energetic live show has received accolades from fans and music journalists alike. 2010 became a landmark year for the Pumas when it was announced that they would open for rock-legends Bon Jovi and Kid Rock at the Regina stop on their 2010 stadium world tour as winners of the Ourstage.com Bon Jovi competition. Additionally, the year found them performing more shows with a higher profile than ever before. Their debut full-length album was recorded this summer and will be released in the fall. The disc promises to be even more diverse than the EP, with an edgier pop/dance/rock sound and lyrics in both French and English. Whether it's as a sonic delight for your headphones or as one of the most exciting live acts in Winnipeg, Enjoy Your Pumas are certainly one to watch in 2010.
