Exemption is a three-piece aggressive progressive rock outfit that started on Long Island in 2004 when the members were only 13 and 14. After putting out multiple demos in their early years, Exemption put out their first full-length in the form of 2007’s “The Rabbit Hole.” The band has played hundreds of shows since then, including a few tours down the east coast and playing with bands such as The Misfits, Byzantine, Dry Kill Logic, and LA Guns along the way. Exemption is a three-piece aggressive progressive rock outfit that started on Long Island in 2004 when the members were only 13 and 14. After putting out multiple demos in their early years, Exemption put out their first full-length in the form of 2007’s “The Rabbit Hole.” The band has played hundreds of shows since then, including a few tours down the east coast and playing with bands such as The Misfits, Byzantine, Dry Kill Logic, and LA Guns along the way. In 2009 they put out the “Harmony of the Spheres EP” and continued to play all over NYC, Brooklyn, and LI. The band is currently at Killingsworth Studios nearing completion of their second full-length, “Public Cemetery Party.” Their sound has evolved into something truly their own, combining progressive metal, stoner rock, pop, blues, and alternative ambiance once earning them the title of the “bastard children of the Beatles (The Metal Den).” They are currently unsigned though dedicated to their record label “Dinosaurs in Vietnam.” Recommended if you enjoy any of the following: Black Sabbath, Pantera, Clutch, Down, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Slayer, Mastodon, The Bronx, Corrosion of Conformity, Pelican, Jimi Hendrix, sex, music, and hot sauce.
