ILL LUCID ONSET is based in Portland, Oregon and is an indie/rock band that plays its own original songs. Singer/song writer Ryan Aiello started Ill Lucid Onset to bring a fresh sound to the Northwest music scene. His lyrics and driving vocals have built a solid fan base and following throughout the Northwest. Drummer Matt Beatty and bass guitarist Jim Beriault hold down the groove and rhythm - creating the heart of the band, while lead guitarist Mark Cook creates the melodies and riffs that make the band sought after. Ill Lucid Onset has several albums available on iTunes for download. They have several new projects coming together for the end of 2010 and 2011 - with fresh songs that will continue to keep their fans happy, and attract new fans to their shows THE ORGINS OF ILL LUCID ONSET: Ill Lucid Onset comes from the Northwestern United States, residing in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon. Members spent their childhoods in Southern California, Vancouver, Washington, and Portland and Seaside, Oregon. They played music and sports and even were involved in community theater; a number of factors led them here. Nothing compares to the genuine artists that simply wants to write good songs for themselves, friends, family, and fans! The variety of guys began in 2002 after each of them having roles in past bands and projects. Singer/guitarist, Ryan Aiello wrote a lot of songs that past year when moving back to the Portland metro area, and good buddy, Nate Vick (bass,2004-2007), agreed to record them with the infamous music engineer Bob Moon (Tooth and Nail Records/Fender Center) and Tim Denny (Hyperstatic Union). By the fall, Tim Hensley (drums 2004-2009) and Marcus Young (guitars, 2004-2010) had joined the soulful, authentic group, and with the release of their first full-length project ("Something Unconditional", February, 2005) the band was born. Originally appearing under the names "Kocauli and "Starbelly", the band eventually settled on "Ill Lucid Onset.". Ryan Aiello (vocals/guitars) works for a university in the Portland area and actually does counseling on the side. Really he just thinks a lot and loves people. Matt Beatty (drums) joined the crew in 2009 and it was immediately evident that Ill Lucid Onset was going to move in ways it always had dreamed to grow! Jim Beriault and Mark Cook, Portland Natives, joined Ill Lucid Onset in 2010 and have helped the guys take the music to a completely different level! It is amazing how tight this crew has developed with their influence! Ill Lucid Onset has had the honor to be on two compilation albums put out by Velvet Blue Music, Huntington Beach, California; Burning Ears (2002) and Tables Will Turn (2006) and one compilation album put out by Shut Eye Records, Atlanta, Georgia; So It Goes (2007). They have also had the privilege to connect and play with fellow dreamers and local brothers, Chris Margolin & The Dregs, HEMA, Violet Isle, and Jackson Jackson & The Citizens - let alone many other NW and west coast based bands. Since early 2008, Ill Lucid Onset played over 50 shows with a variety of amazing bands. Now after a seven month break in early 2009, a fresh line-up, a couple new projects on their way, a driven management crew, and a continued devoted fan based - a buzz continues to grow and great things are expected and on their way. And just think, this is just a few things about the guys from Ill Lucid Onset. Ill Lucid Onset is as loud and artful as it has to be, to drown out some of this numb stagnate world of music. This is not just rock music; this is thoughtful music, bigger than itself, wise beyond its years, atmospheric rock in space and soulfulness for this time in the 21st century.
