Pure worship...that is what you experience when you experience the ministry of Kenneth Reese. Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Kenneth has been influenced by such artists as Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, and the late Thomas Whitfield. But his influences don't stop there. Don Moen, Alvin Slaughter, Tommy Walker, Ron Kenoly and Darlene Zschech (Hillsongs) have all helped to influence his own unique and personal approach to the music ministry. Kenneth's anointed Praise and Worship ministry was kindled out of a deep love for God and a need to have a means to fellowship with Him. Kenneth is a firm believer that your worship ministry must begin at home privately before it can go public. Many nights he would sit at his piano and minister heartfelt songs or prayers to the Lord. He did not realize that this was the beginning of his Praise and Worship ministry. In 2005, Kenneth was commissioned by his spiritual leader, Bishop George L. Davis of Faith Christian Center in Jacksonville, FL, to release a CD featuring all original music. In April of 2006, Redemption's Price was released using songs that Kenneth had used over the years while serving at Faith Christian Center as Music Pastor. Many have received healing from simply listening to this recording as they were reminded that Jesus was willing to pay the ultimate price to redeem them back to Himself. Kenneth Reese is also a classically trained pianist. His love for the piano began at a very early age. As a child he would travel to his brother and sister's piano lesson. Being intrigued, he would take their piano books and teach himself how to play. He had been blessed as a child to be able to play on a Story & Clark grand piano which his mother won on Let's Make a Deal in 1968. To this day he still has the piano in his home.As a young teenager Kenneth was fortunate enough to study privately under the illustrious Maria Meirelles. Aside from Kenneth's parents, Miss Meirelles was very instrumental in his musical journey. It was she who was the first to notate one of Kenneth's earliest piano pieces. After high school, Kenneth attended Hampton University where he majored in Piano Performance. There he studied under and was mentored by the great African American composer, conductor, and educator, Dr. Roland Carter. Kenneth would later go on to Wayne State University where he continued studying piano under the awesome direction of another consummate professional pianist, Dr. Doris Richards.Mr. Reese has been greatly influenced by music from the Impressionistic Era; such greats as Claude Debussy, Frederic Chopin, Maurice Ravel and the like. He has also been greatly influenced by other great contemporary composers, namely George Winston. In particular, Kenneth recalls one favorite piano piece by George Winston entitled "Thanksgiving.""The Secret Place" is the first of Kenneth Reese's solo piano collections. This recording features a style of composition that Kenneth calls "Sacred Improvisational Piano." It is a technique he has coined to describe how his piano music came about. "This CD is a collection of solo piano pieces that were totally improvised at the piano and captured on tape. They were either piano interpretations of scripture or prophetically inspired pieces that declare a sacred message in song." "The Secret Place" is a Contemporary Instrumental recording that will be sure to take you on a journey to a place of peace and rest.
