Ann LaJuan Bohannon-Stewart is the daughter of Rev. Jethery Eugene Bohannon. She was born on January 7th on her father’s birthday, and that always seemed to give her and her father a special relationship. Because he was a minister, she wanted to be like him. LaJuan considered it like a legacy to carry on in father’s music ministry and footsteps. She spent much of her youth traveling with him and playing piano for him, while he sang at different churches. When she was young her father always wanted and encouraged her to sing. Even though she wanted to sing, she was a little shy in front of people and it took her many years to get her courage up to where she could sing in front of groups of people. Finally in her teenage years she started getting up in church and singing regularly. LaJuan attended the Oklahoma City institute of music for music theory Oklahoma back in the early 1990’s. Famous country artists like Bryan White and others also attended the Oklahoma City Institute of Music, who LaJuan considered very inspiring. At the Institute of music under Joe Suttermires she learned music theory and how to use keyboards to rhythm mix and create and arrange music and songs. She took many creative writing classes at City College of Chicago, Tennessee State University, and Nashville State Community College. Many of her music classes were at Tennessee State University as well under Professor Thomas Davis and Professor Mark Crawford, where she graduated with a degree in Biology and Minor in Chemistry, but got a little music education at Tennessee State too. In the late 90’s Ann went to work in a large brand new music store called Mars Music, where she worked in the keyboard section. There she met many people who she was honored to have met, folks in the music arena such as Michael W. Smith, John Berry, and other musicians and singers who were an inspiration to her. During the time that LaJuan worked at Mars Music store she managed to build her own music recording studio, and accumulate a large number of keyboards. Where she could write and record her own music daily. Ann LaJuan has been an unknown writer in Nashville for many years. When youtube came along she uploaded her songs there, and she found people there to share her music with. That’s when her music started becoming well known. Lajuan has written and recorded hundreds of Christian songs, and they are just now being heard by the public on the web. Ann LaJuan goes by the single name of LaJuan in the music arena, because she says it’s fairly unique and not a lot of entertainers are named LaJuan. She says there are many too many entertainers named Ann, also her father named her LaJuan before she was born. Her dad says in mean the angel and he told his daughter LaJuan he had dreams of her singing for God someday, and that also became LaJuan’s dream. Her mother Beulah Bohannon always called her LaJuan when she was a child, and all of her music is listed under the single name of LaJuan. If you type that name into any engine searcher or music searcher you’ll be able to find her music there. In 1998 LaJuan met Christopher Michael Stewart, (a fellow musician)who she said she fell in love with instantly and married in 2000. Christopher is also a guitarist, fellow musician and encourages LaJuan to do perform and write her music. Together they have 3 children. LaJuan’s Family: Parents: Father: Rev. Jethery Eugene Bohannon (San Marcos, Texas Church of God of Prophecy) Mother: Buelah Maud Bohannon 5 older Brothers: Jethery (Eugene) Bohannon Jr. Larry Bohannon Steven Bohannon David Bohannon Brad Bohannon Husband: Christopher Michael Stewart Children: (daughter) Summer Stewart (twin sons) Jethery Cameron Stewart Carrigan Bradford Stewart Because I am a minister’s child, there have been times in my life when I have lost the faith of Jesus Christ and wondered if he really was the son of God or was he was just a myth that people made up in history. But than personal miracles would happen in my life, things that made me believe in Christ and God again. You see when you grow up the child of a minister and that is the only religion you have been taught and than you become an adult and you hear of other religions and evolution and science…It can make you lose your faith in Christianity. That is what my song God, Science and Evolution is about. I am a biology medical major, and I will become a doctor or a nurse practitioner, and I want to tell people that Evolution and science doesn’t say there’s not a creator it just says we evolve, it doesn’t go again Christianity. I believe the Bible was written in a time where there was limited knowledge about science. You know people who aren’t believers in Christianity. Will say things to me like…how you can believe in this insane old religion. It’s like we humans used to believed the world was flat. Like we’re stupid enough to believe in Christian like people were once stupid or uneducated enough to believe the world was flat. No that not what Christian’s believe, we don’t believe the world is flat, and I don’t think there’s anywhere in the bible where it says the world is flat. Christianity is not that far fetched of an idea. It’s not as far off as the world being flat, and I believe that it was early sciences that made people believe that the world was flat. No Christianity cause in science we are always contradicting things that we study and learn about. Just like we once believed and used to teach DNA was only in the nucleic of the cells and now we know we was wrong to teach science that way, but Christianity is totally different thing. We are believing there is a creator. Something that made us, and I believe in our lives if we are close enough to God like my father is, that our creator guides us and tells us thing that will happen. We can almost see our own future if we believe in God enough and listen to that voice that tells us which way to go with our lives. The Bible is so confusing…but you have to understand it was written by men of the old earth. They had a limited amount of data and I believe when they wrote the Bible they did the best they could with the information they thought they knew. And as we learn more information though science we are not contradicting ourselves in the Christian faith as Jesus Christ was Born and given to us by God, we are saying there is just so much more information and pieces to the puzzle other than what the Bible has given us. What makes me believe in Christianity is the personal signs I see. Things I know happen for a reason. Like my father would often predict things that would happen to me before they happened. He has been such a strong faith in Christianity for me. He told me such things as the birth of my twin boys would come. My father told me he had a dream that I would have twin boys and they would be something special. That was 7 years before they were born. My mother told me my father had a dream and woke her up in the middle of the night and told her that I was going to be born…He said he saw me in a dream, and that was 2 years before I was born. Those are special little personal miracles for me. I work in an intensive care surgical recovery unit at Vanderbilt hospital. I have been working in the medical field for many years as a X-Ray tech and Carepartner, and I have seen so many patients that most of medical staff would think are going to dye soon and for some miraculous reason they live on and on. All I can say is I see God every day in the work I do at Vanderbilt…I feel like God chooses who he’s going to take…and God has a reason for everything.
