The highly anticipated debut album was released on the Zx5 Productions label and is expected to hit the shelves of record stores worldwide in late April 2013.  The soulful fifteen track album echoes a mix of R&B, Pop, alternative while staying culturally rooted to authentic reggae with tracks like the hit single 'Baby Come To Me' and 'Old Time Love' a collaboration with reggae superstar Tarrus Riley.  Lenya has delivered a masterful collectors album six years after leaving the Digicel Rising Stars competition and two years after her three-year opening act stint with reggae icon Beres Hammond.  The creative efforts on this album is a clear indication of Wilks’ maturity and readiness for the world stage, her powerful and soulful vocal range can be heard in tracks like‘I Hate Love’, ‘Better In My Dreams’ and ‘Mothered’ which is a moving tribute to mothers around the world. released her self-titled debut in digital stores worldwide. Born Lenya Lisa Wilks, she hails from the small St. Catherine community of Ewarton, she belts her soulful voice on several genres; Reggae/R&B/Pop/Alternative.  Lenya started her musical journey in her high school years.  On entering The Charlemont High School in St. Catherine, the seventh grader was assigned the task of leading the school’s senior choir.  Over the five years Lenya led the choir, Charlemont High School won more than twenty gold medals each year in various music competitions across Jamaica. Lenya’s personal medal count during her years in high school stands at over twenty-one gold medals and three trophies.      At age seventeen she was first introduced to the wider Jamaican audience when she entered the 2007 Digicel Rising Stars competition; she was a fan favourite who many expected to win however she ended up in fourth place.  Lenya is arguably one of the best vocals in the competition’s history and the most surprising exit; which is spoken of even today. Despite that setback, lady luck shined on Lenya and her fortunes changed almost immediately when on the same night she dropped out of the Rising Stars competition she was invited to join the illustrious Harmony House Productions team; home to reggae icon Beres Hammond.   Lenya toured with Beres Hammond as an opening act from 2008-2010, performing at many different venues across the USA, Europe, Canada & the Caribbean.  Her last tour of the USA covered thirty-three states. In 2011 Lenya launched her solo career with Zx5 Productions. Lenya’s songs are in rotation on radio stations throughout the world and some have found homes on internationally released compilation CDs, including The Hit List Vol.3, which also features Beenie Man and Mavado. Lenya’s distinct vocals are featured in commercials and her sultry track ‘I Hate Love’ was #2 on the Indie top songs chart for several weeks.  In March 2012 she scored her first #1 hit on the Jamaican Reggae Singles Chart with her reggae single ‘Baby Come To Me’.  She has been interviewed on several television and radio stations and featured in magazines including Tallawah and the New York based Embrace You. "So I kept seeing this drop dead gorgeous guy everywhere I went in my beautiful ‘YEH MAN JAMAICA’ so I convinced myself he was my ‘STALKER’ [LOL].  Believing he was the man of my dreams I became besotted by this Guy.  Even without knowing him I was prepared to throw caution to the wind whilst still unsure if it was love or ‘INFATUATION’. Eventually I found the courage to approach him and said ‘BABY COME TO ME’ because I can turn a house into a home, give me to you and you alone, love you to your bones.  I can’t remember what he said but I agreed with it anyways and before I knew it I was swept off my feet into love’s most passionate flame.  It wasn’t very long before reality opened my eyes and showed me that he had ‘CHEATING EYES’ and my dream lover was a ‘FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS’ kind of Guy who had no intention to give me the ‘OLD TIME LOVE’ my heart desired.  Though I realized he was more of a frog and less of a prince, I thought if I ‘MOTHERED’ ‘DIS LOVE AFFAIR’ I could make him my ‘SUMMER SOUL’ but he was a disaster in every respect with no prospects; a dapper without a dollar and no matter how hard I tried to make a life for us, he kept ‘KILLING MY GAME’.  So I kissed a perceived prince who turned into a real frog, I followed my eyes and came to realize he was ‘BETTER IN MY DREAMS’.  Now I have come to learn that ‘ANYTIME THE HEART STOP’ loving on the same track you may find yourself singing ‘I HATE LOVE’ but I shall not despair, cause though they say love is blind I know it will see me through. I’ll never give up on love so ‘THIS IS NOT GOODBYE’ cause I’m sure somewhere in chapter two I’ll find my prince amidst the army of frogs. “Hi, I am Lenya Wilks; your support is vital, your love is essential, get your copy of my debut album; there's a chance you might find that my songs are about your life too”. FEATURED ALBUM REVIEW: "The album’s strongest ballad award goes to Anytime the Heart Stops. Combined with enigmatic piano melodies, fierce r&b rudiments, and a blend of sentimental words and powerful singing, the track sails amazingly well as it symbolizes love and all that it brings"....... "Following the sexy starter is the more mellow and bluesy Better in My Dreams. There’s something about this track that pulls me into the 80s. All  I think of is sitting in a lounge filled with sensuality in the air and surrounded by nothing but emotional melodies. I had no idea that after one listen Better in My Dreams would turn out to be my favorite on the album, but it sure doesn’t stop there. The next track is just as memorable and uniquely interesting"......   "I’d like to reiterate how wonderful Lenya Wilks‘ debut album is and I just can’t wait to see where she goes next. A talented artist indeed. She’s without boundaries and limitations. Lenya Wilks is truly a star risen. What more can I say or do but give her debut album a rating of 5 stars, even though there’s no rating good enough to rank how high up there this album really is".……EmbraceYou Magazine.
