Born in Madera California, Marlon has been playing professionally for over thirty years. At age five being exposed to a sister who played piano and a brother who was a professional Musician, he was nurtured by the Blues, Gospel, Classical, R&B Soul, Rock, and Funk music. Born in Madera California, Marlon has been playing professionally for over thirty years. At age five being exposed to a sister who played piano and a brother who was a professional Musician, he was nurtured by the Blues, Gospel, Classical, R&B Soul, Rock, and Funk music. Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, The brilliant clarity of George Benson, the sound of Earl Klugh, Paul Jackson Jr., Joe Sample, and Miles Davis extraordinaire are just a few of the artists that have helped to shape Bowen’s original sound.  After three decades of making music, Bowen continues to appreciate a wide tapestry of various sounds that make the guitar one of most versatile instruments on earth. In the 1980’s and 1990's Bowen’s colorful and versatile Rhythm & Blues style toured Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, Guam, Hawaii and various cities in the United States.  From the 1980’s to the 2000’s he was member to various groups: Blizzo Band, Starlite Band, Flavor Band, Channel 7 Band, Innervision Band, Movement Band, and is highlighted by work with Danny Thomas’s Confunkshun Review and Vocalist E. J. Turner of D.R.S.  He also toured and worked with Jazz Organist/Pianist Talmadge Grundy. He has also worked with Gospel groups such as The Wynn Sisters, The Leonard Lothlen Band, Kevin Archie, Big Mike, Sista O, Charles Cooper, The Calvin Lymos Group, The UC Davis Gospel Choir and Joe Archie to name a few. Theatrical productions include “God Is Trying To Tell You Something”, “And the Dream Goes On”, “Hallelujah City”, “Ain’t Misbehavin”, “Evangelize”, and “The All Night Strut just to name few. Bowen’s recent Videos include Kevon Edmonds “Oh”. CD recordings include Jose Hernandez, Psalm to Jabez, Marcus Davis and Devaness Records CD compulations: God Quest “The Journey”, “Survival”, Rici Bell, “So Into You”, Jacob Luttrell, “Gift”. He also collaborated on the Rene Robinson, Kenny Polson, Kevin Archie, Terin Thompson, Calvin Lymos and Fireworks Records CD Projects, and was a featured Jazz Band Guitarist for over a decade at Sacramento’s Jazz Jubilee Festival. He’s also currently working on a solo CD and is an active well know musician in the Sacramento area and around the world. When Bowen isn’t making music, his hobby is computers.
