Of Former Fame began in early 2007 in one of the many suburbs of Portland, Oregon. Falling into the Modern, Alternative and even Metal Rock categories, Of Former Fame blends heavy riffs, enveloping melodies, and catchy vocals for a blend of rock that is unique and familiar at the same time. With influence like superstars such Chevelle, Foo Fighters and Breaking Benjamin, O.F.F. has created a unique mix of dynamic music worth checking out. It all started from an ad on craigslist where guitarist Omni found the now defunct singer, Rory. He and Rory began working on material while scouring for additions to the band. After a few months, Omni pulled Brent, who he met at work, into the project to play drums. "When I met Brent, I knew he played drums without even talking to him. He just had that air about him," he recalls. It took months of harassment before Brent finally to give in and buy a kit to replace his stolen drums. Around the same time, Omni and Steve reconnected after having drifted apart and joined the band as second guitarist. Of Former Fame looked for a permanent bass player while working on new material but had difficulty with the task. Their first gig (a Battle of the Bands) was coming up so they convinced a friend, Jeremy, to play along with them for their first show. "We found out, about a year later, that Jeremy actually turned his volume down and only pretended to play!" Omni laughs. "We were apparently so nervous we didn't even notice." Immediately after the set, there were resounding compliments, but everyone had the same advice. "Get rid of your singer!" So Of Former Fame dropped Rory from the roster and Steve stepped up to the front man position. "It took some time to get used to singing and playing, but after a few months I started to get it down pretty well." Over time OFF has gone through many bass players and has now recruited Alex, someone who finally fits in with the band both musically and personality wise. Brent explains, "Adding Alex as a member has been seamless. He's a super quick study, he's got loads of energy and we're ready to take OFF back on the road!"
