About P.E.A.C.E. the Poetess
P.E.A.C.E. has been writing poetry since the age of 9,only to evolve to conscious rap,performance poetry and music.After years of putting her writing on the back burner to focus on family,she accepted a challenge by a once stranger, now close friend to pick up the pen and write again.After much procrastination,she accepted the challenge and stepped out to participate in her first poetry slam, and won 1st place. Shortley after, P.E.A.C.E. entered into the Detroit "Bring It"Talent Competition and again won 1st place in the category of Spoken Word,Rap and Comedy.
Many doors and opportunities have forged since the win,which led to a 40 school tour themed,"Project Pride" with Detroit City Councilman, Kwame Kenyatta and Spoken Word Artist and Mcee, Mic Write,currently an intricate part of the "Cease Fire" tour initiated by radio personality Reggie Reg Davis,community leaders, activist, and local artist. P.E.A.C.E. continues to move crowds with her energetic delivery and inspiring play on words and topics.She is constantly sought out and featured around the State of Michigan, and is forging her way through the country via modern technology.Her current projects include writing in preparation for publishing her first book entitled "Late Bloomer" ,working on her second recording project to accompany her book ,touring and feature performances.
