Terrence “SP” Smith, a new and upcoming Hip Hop Producer always knew that making music was what he wanted to do. Growing up in North Long Beach, California music was a daily part of his life. Producing since the age of 16, an Alesis Hr 16 Drum Machine was his first tool. Influenced by the likes of J. Dilla (R.I.P.), DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and a host of others that have paved the way, he has used his keen sense of sound in an effort to preserve this music called “Hip Hop” that has nurtured him into a man. Currently, co-owner of Street Vinyl Music and with the help of his Akai MPC, Pro Tools and classic vinyl records, he is currently working on his first public release. A release that he hopes will one day inspire others, the way great albums have inspired him. Listening to his 5 favorite albums; Gil Scott Heron “Pieces of a Man”, Public Enemy “Fear of a Black Planet”, Boogie Down Productions “By All Means Necessary”, Tribe Called Quest “Low End Theory” and Nas “Illmatic”, he is hoping to one day have the opportunity to work along side the likes of Dilated Peoples, ?Love, Little Brother, Common, Black Thought and 9th Wonder.
