"Wrong Again" formed in the fall of 2005 on the grounds at UC Santa Barbara. Members and friends have come and gone, but the group retains a core of four members: Trevor Zinn on Guitar/Vocals, Gabriel Soriano on Guitar/Vocals, Niels Rasmussen on Bass/Back-up Vocals, and Matt Hayes on Drums/Back-up Vocals. The members combine funk, rock, blues, reggae, and folk into a sound that is organic and energetic. "Wrong Again" has been compared to Ben Harper, Dave Matthews Band, G. Love, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more. With influences ranging from Thrice to Genesis, "Wrong Again" is constantly evolving. As individual musicians, the members of the band have released a handful of demos, EP's, and LP's. As a band, "Wrong Again" has released a demo, a full-length album, and their latest effort "Bootleg Melodies", a 6 song EP. After finishing the EP, members of the band toured the West Coast from San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA, to promote the new music. After doing so, the band continued to play shows throughout Southern Califonia and the Central Coast. "Wrong Again" is also a strong presence in Isla Vista, the concentrated area of 20,000-plus students living next to UCSB who have launched several acts like Jack Johnson, Thriving Ivory, ALO, and more. A constant stream of concerts, releases, touring, and local venue residencies has helped the band build a loyal fan base. "Bootleg Melodies" has enjoyed a modest amount of success since it's release in early 2010. The singles "Crave", "Don't Lose Control", and "Runaway" have garnered steady rotation on internet radio and even local Santa Barbara radio stations like 92.9 KJEE and 97.5 KRUZ. The band is currently writing and recording their next EP, "Chasing Storms", which is set to be released by Christmas of 2010.
