Description

Written about a friend who owned a bar named "Kelly's". Her name was Kathy Kelly and during The FrogHollow Band's earlier days, she would have us play at her bar, and always took good care of us. She passed away from cancer a couple years ago. This song was written in her memory.

Lyrics

Just a smokey old bar room, at the stateline on the outside of town. Guiness and coorslight , makers and shakers, and crown. Between the stool and the bar,Every day is a friendly cliche. as we all sing along, the band continues to play. Welcoming to all she sits at the bar with a grin. and throughout the day she’ll greet friends as they all wander in. She’d say come in, sit down, and will pour you a shot of our best. If we continue to drink, I bet we’ll outlast the rest. Come to Kelly’s last call. Where old men tell stories of younger day glories, and friends are closer than far. but good times can’t roll for that long, tonight’s Kelly’s last call. Now we sit in the dark knowing our good friend is gone. But deep in our hearts she's smiling and singing a song. So Here’s to the drinkers, the lovers and cheaters, the family and friends near and far. Her spirit survives and we’re all still alive, drinking at Kelly’s Last call. Come to Kelly’s last call. Where old men tell stories of younger day glories, and friends are closer than far. but good times can’t roll for that long, tonight’s Kelly’s last call.
