Though he didn't grow up surrounded by a family of musicians, throughout Austin Jennings' early years in Alabama he could be found soaking in melody from the likes of Paula Abdul and Whitney Houston or cruising along in his dad's pickup truck to the sweet tunes of Steve Winwood. After playing percussion through his teen years, both in his school marching band and at home on his electric drum set, Austin found the inspiration in his early adulthood to start singing and writing songs. On a bit of a whim in 2004, Austin packed up all of this belongings and made a 2000 mile move from Alabama to San Diego. While soaking in the California sun, Austin continues to toil daily in hopes of a bright, successful future doing what he loves most, singing and writing songs. Austin has come a long way since his first San Diego open mic night at Hot Java Café. Since then he has played at Twiggs Coffee Shop (San Diego), Mueller College (San Diego), and Room 5 (Los Angeles), has been active in the ListenLocal San Diego scene, and helped celebrate with the Surfrider Foundation at the OC Tavern for "Save Trestles: A Benefit for the Earth and the Sea." On multiple occasions he has been invited to open for the Bushwalla and Friends act that has created quite a stir in both the San Diego and Los Angeles music scenes.
