Jaker who took their name from a relation, The relation being their late grandfather and his nickname being ''Jaker''. Although the lads never met the man, his name will live on in strenght of the band. In the summer of 1998 a very young band emerged from Blanchardstown Dublin, Ireland consisting of Kevin Casey and his younger twin brothers Paul and Neil. The band then were going by the name ''Emerald' . "Emerald" had a decent span, that lasted several years. The lads gained most of their experience in that time playing various venues in Dublin and they thrived on playing the local bars and clubs. Playing all of these venues was good for the band financially as it helped fund the essentials that any band would need.In January 2007 "Emerald" played at the annual "Vibe for Philo" a gig that is put on in the memory of Phil Lynott in Vicar Street, it was a great experience for the Lads. Also in that year the band played gigs in The National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, Dublin and in November in The Helix where they played with some of Irelands top acts. Although 2007 was a great year for the band 2008 wasn't so Promising. The lads had sacked the drummer they had at the time which put a hault for a while on all plans the band had. A good friend Sam Quinn stepped in as the full time drummer and also the band changed its name to "Jaker" and the band was back on course again. Although 2008 was an awkward year it didn't prevent the lads from working and they still managed to play over a 130 gigs that year and also gave the band its first opportunity of playing outside Ireland. The lads also released a new track called "Promises" which was really liked by all the supporter's and is the part of the show that would really catch the attention of an audience, It also proved the strenght of the band yet again. So far 2009 has started well with the band once again playing the "Vibe for Philo" and rounding up plenty of gigs for the year. At the moment "Jaker" are working on new material for an album, and a new single called " My Mistake" which is due for release April 09.Its fair to say they're a hardworking band. Not only hardworking but they're very passionate about they're music. That passion can be witnessed when you watch the band perform live, its an energy, a power, An experience!
