Light vs. Dark. Good vs. Evil. Passive/aggressive. Hope and despair. These are the conflicts that we face everyday. This is the theme of Juxtapoze. Formed during the spring of 2008, and coming from different musical backgrounds, Hupp and Hybrid came together to create a musical project with raw emotion and a sound that hadn't been heard locally. .. Hybrid, after dabbling in hip-hop for almost a decade with a former group, decided to take his talents to the next level, incorporating his lyrical ability and knack for crafting beats into the hardcore metal realm that Hupp had dwelled in equally as long with his former band. It started as only the two, Hupp and Hybrid. Lyrics were written, the idea and concept of Juxtapoze was tossed around between them, and many songs were crafted, which became the debut album from the group, entitled "Serotonin." The album was synthesized, electronic hip-hop beats laced with crunching live guitar and bass. The contrast of Hybrid's rap and harmony vocals with Hupp's provocative, aggressive approach to his vocals set the tone for the appropriately titled group. Rap and metal collided, giving the listener the best of both worlds. .. While in the process of creating Serotonin, old friends and former bandmates jumped on the bandwagon, offering their abilities to Juxtapoze, thus creating a five man powerhouse. Guitarist Jeremy (Germ) Mitchell, bassist Tyler (Tree) Jumpp, and drummer Demetrius (Meechi) Moxley helped to shape the sound of Juxtapoze, giving the songs a live-band spin by making an adaptation of what had already been laid down by Hybrid's beats. The result was a gut-wrenching truth of politics, love, and internal struggle, all portrayed in their energetic live show. The band will continue to go strong in their pursuit to conquer new territory and fans. Be prepared to see both sides of things. Be prepared for conflict. Be prepared for Juxtapoze.
