To contact Time's Hour, send an email to: band@timeshour.com Time's Hour is a Progressive Rock music project first initiated during the summer of 2010 by multi-instrumentalist Gregory Monte. Monte produced an early demo album, Unbound, in late 2011.  This was followed by the release of the first official CD, Thoughts from a Disintegrating Consciousness, in 2013.  Thoughts is currently being remixed/remastered for release later in 2016 although CD's can still be purchased on Amazon.com. Influences are varied, which makes it hard to pin down exactly which progressive rock bands Time's Hour sounds the most like.  This could be due to the fact that most of Monte's song ideas are drawn from classical music - specifically Gustav Mahler and Richard Wagner (among other late Romantic composers). When asked about how he came up with the musical ideas for the latest album Time's End, Monte stated: "For the entire year or so while I was writing and composing the music for Time's End , I refused to listen to any progressive rock of any kind.  I didn't want to be influenced in any way by what others had written or were writing/recording.  I did listen to a lot of classical music however - especially Gustav Mahler's symphonies and Richard Wagner's operas.  I wanted to write music that didn't sound like any other progressive rock out there and I think that I have had some success in this regard.  The only problem is that, when people ask me what band my music sounds the most like, I can't quite put my finger on it.  Exactly who is my audience?  That's a question I am still trying to answer.  I think that Genesis (with Peter Gabriel) is the ultimate in progressive rock music, with Marillion and IQ a close second and third respectively - but this doesn't mean that my music sounds at all like theirs....." The best description that seems to sum-up Time's Hour is Linear Progressive Rock.  Linear refers to the fact that most of the music doesn't follow the typical song format.  There are rarely any verses/choruses.  Instead, the music moves forward in one direction and is constantly changing.  A great example of this can be found in the song On Course to National Suicide which continues for almost ten minutes with barely a repeated section.  Founder's Lament is similar in this regard, although a theme does return at the very end of Faded & Tattered. All of Time's Hour's music is written, recorded, mixed & mastered by Gregory Monte at Westcolang Lake Studios, Lackawaxen, PA, USA. The current album, Time's End, was released on 2/13/16 and is available for download on iTunes and Amazon.com .
