HIKS

Born in Kleguerec (Brittany) in 2006, Hiks represents a resolutely modern sound in the heart of the Celtic and Breton music scene. Conscientious of the evolution of traditional music, the group studied the very essence of these musical genres by including diverse and eclectic influences (traditional, electro, rock, etc… ). It is with a revitalising energy, drawn as much from trance as dance, that Hiks explodes the frontiers of the ‘renouveau celtic’   Risking being called renegad...

Conscientious of the evolution of traditional music, the group studied the very essence of these musical genres by including diverse and eclectic influences (traditional, electro, rock, etc… ). It is with a revitalising energy, drawn as much from trance as dance, that Hiks explodes the frontiers of the ‘renouveau celtic’   Risking being called renegades or even heretics, the entities of Hiks explore the Breton tradition, dissecting the established precepts of Breton dance, into which they inject a music which is current, electric, neurotic and full of enthusiasm  Original themes, served by a powerful and inspired acoustic identity, oscillate between the controlled solidity of rock and the ‘frenesie’ of electro beat. Compositions, saturated in the energy of this collective known as Hiks, propose a journey through the present and future Conceived and developed on the periphery of the suburbs the sound of Hiks flies head first towards the city lights.       Né à Kleguerec ( BZH - 56 ) en 2006 , HIKS présente un son résolument moderne au sein du monde de la musique celtique et bretonne. Soucieux de faire évoluer la tradition , le groupe a étudié l'essence même de ces genres musicaux en y incluant diverses influences ( trad , electro, rock , etc...). Une énergie revitalisante qui fait éclater les frontières du renouveau celtique et prend sa source autant dans la transe que dans la danse. Au risque de passer pour des écorcheurs, les entités de HIKS explorent la tradition bretonne , dépècent les figures imposées de la danse et y injectent une musique actuelle , électrique , névrotique et pleine d’espoir... Des thèmes originaux , servis par une identité acoustique puissante et inspirée , oscillent entre pesanteur controlée du rock et frénésie « machinisée » du beat electro . Des compositions , saturées à l’énergie de ce collectif , qui préconisent , aux clichés spinaliens , un voyage dans le présent et l'avenir. Concu et développé en périphérie des zones suburbaines , le son de HIKS , fonce sur la Cité/Monde.......
