Monday, October 17, 1983 a 6lbs baby is born to parents who have no idea that they were carrying a music pioneer. They named him JAMEN, which means, “GOD has spoken,” and when you hear his music you will understand that he definitely lives up to his name! As with most young men from Texas, Jamen was a very athletic. He ran track, and not just ran track, but broke records while doing it. He even came in 2nd to Olympic Gold Medalist Jeremy Wariner. After going to Baylor University with a scholarship for track Jamen began to feel a tug on his heart as if destiny was pulling him in a totally different direction. One day, one of his friends who did music convinced him to experiment with writing and recording music recalling the true Hip Hop and R&B he was introduced to in middle school. With such inspirations like Busta Ryhmes, Bones Thugs N’ Harmony, The Hot Boy, Boyz II Men and Montel Jordan, he recorded his first track and fell in love with the art. Using his phenomenal writing ability, he began to sculpt lyrics like a Picasso art piece.
