Born twin on Christmas day in 1990, Michael Luna is a American recording artist and producer. Growing up in Southern New Jersey, Michael picked up the guitar at age six. He was a member of his family band that consisted of his brothers and led by his father. Unlike his brothers, Michael had a hard time developing an ear for music. Contemplating weather music was for him, he joined his grade school choir and his father would spend countless hours teaching him how to play covers from bands like The Beatles to Incubus. In 2002, his mother and father were forced to move out of their apartment. Relocating into a smaller apartment, due to lack of space, the family band lost motivation to continue and Michael stopped playing guitar.
Finally settling into a new home, Michael and his brothers re-linked again. His father would print lyric sheets and push Michael to sing whenever they would have small holiday gatherings. In 2005 the band broke up. With members venturing off to become better musicians, Michael began writing poetry. Listening to Detroit rapper Eminem, and watching his brother record with a “radio shack” microphone, he began to wonder if he was ever good enough to rap. In his earlier years of high school, Michael Luna met Kevin Adorno, who would later become his business partner. The two would always discuss mutual interest in music briefly, but it was not until Michael was invited to record at Kevin’s home studio, that he found his ear for music.
Feeling he found his fit, Michael continued to explore his writing and recording abilities. He began performing throughout the tri-state area and even headlining for college events. In 2010 Michael released his first EP “Unraveled” and co-found Lo-Kal Music Group, which also houses artists such as, “6” aka Kevin Adorno, Xavier El Trueno, Rayo Rosario, and added producer Vince “LunAtic” in 2011. Since then Michael has performed for Sea Isle City’s Got Talent, opened up a professional recording studio (Lo-kal Hit Factory), and released his second solo EP “Cloud Nine”. He has been blessed to work with some industry names such as Florida rapper Laws from Grammy Award Winning production team J.u.s.t.i.c.e. League, upcoming NY native Emilio Rojas, and Brian Angel of Day 26, from MTV’s “Making the Band 4”; to name a few. At age Twenty-one Michael Luna will be making his industry break through with the release of his mixtape and performing alongside industry greats on the 2012 URock Tour.
