My music is bi-polar. I shift between rhythmic expressive stuff, to gentle melodic introspection. I like powerful music; whether it's the cathartic bellow of a driving beat, or an exhale of relief from a soft piano. I don't read or write music, I play by ear as I have since the age of 14 when a 100 year old piano distracted me from all other summer camp activities. I learned to play by listening and watching others. Shifting to electronic tools has unlocked my creativity and opened the door to expressing myself musically with greater depth.
I write music because I enjoy it. Occasionally I'll use it to communicate with people I've left behind, but mostly I enjoy being creative. I hope that when YOU listen, it takes you somewhere you like to go.
My films, on the other hand, are experimental and fun. As I learn, I hope to take on more serious topics as well as amp up "the funny" in comic pieces. I guess it's clear that a mainstream gig just ain't for me. Keep the nametag and give me a piano!!
