Portrait of Roland Eaton
I was born in Ravenden,Arkansas.I have loved Country Music all my life.I am more than 74 years old. I lived in Memphis,Tennessee and was Master of Ceremonies for The Mid-South Jamboree there for several years. I have appeared with George Jones,Merle Haggard,Roy Drusky,Jimmy Newman,String Bean,Loretta Lynn, Charlie Louvin,Connie Smith, and many other around the country. I had a country music show in 1968 on KAIT in Jonesboro,Arkansas. Appeared on The Country Junction Show in 1968,it's now called The Gene Williams Show. Was signed to Capital Records in 1968.Appeared on the Country Cross Roads Show in 1970 at Fort Worth,TX. Was on the Grand Ole Opery in June 1967. Appeared on The Wynn Stewart Show in Fort Worth,TX in July 1970. Had several singles that didn't do too bad on the charts, but never had a #1. Some of my songs were "Don't Call Me,I'll Call You",which is on the albumn "Memphis Rockabillies, Hillbillies, and Honky Tonkers" that was released June 27,2006.My songs on Capital Recorders Was"What Charlie Don't Know Won't Hurt Him","If Love Was Money","Carters Hill",and Hippie From The Hills". Toured around the country, including Alaska. Things just didn't work out. So I moved back home to Black Rock,Arkansas and retired from the Arkansas Highway Dept.several years ago. I have produced a cd with some of my songs on it. I just didn't want these songs to die. Because of my health,I can not perform anymore, but my friends and I still get together and jamm when I feel like it.Follow your dreams and they can come true. There is still a lot of talent out there and I have heard a lot on ourstage.
