Portrait of Josh LaCount

"If your gonna do it, then just do it". Those words inspired Josh LaCount to pursue more than just a few simple songs twice a week at the local bar and grill. Since his early days, Josh LaCount has had more in mind than just the everyday routine. "I was so ready for it, I was a singer and I knew it. I was a writer and I wanted to know more. I took every opportunity to learn from people with more experience and more wisdom than I". In turn leading Josh to move to Nashville in 2010 and pursue his dream. Once in Nashville, LaCount was able to dig deeper into what his goals were. "From being surrounded by so many musicians all types and styles, it was mind blowing to see how much more there was to the 'business". Josh started writing immediately; he began performing anywhere he could, and started making as many connections as possible. "Anything I could do to further myself". After success with his first demo song releases, and great response from listeners of all ages, he decided to release another EP. "This is a better representation of what I am and what I want to be as a musician," says LaCount, ”I sat down and really wanted to find myself, and at the same time be able to help people." He continued to play out as much as possible at venues such as, “The Hard Rock Café”, “The Rutledge”, “Café Coco”, “ The End” and so on. Josh then went on to co-write and record new songs with producer Grant Craig at The Sound Kitchen studios in Franklin TN. He released his self titled EP in March of 2011. "I just want to make music, be happy, and help people see that there is hope in a world where things are just getting crazy. My father would always tell me something Dwight L.Moody once said,'Character is what a man is in the dark'."I never want to be someone different behind closed doors than who I am to the public eye." From catchy pop melodies, to sing able choruses, he offers a variety of guitar driven songs that anyone could relate to.
