Portrait of Robert Stefan

Born in Montreal, of German parents, he is a musician of many talents. Singer, songwriter, and accomplished guitarist, he is fluent in English, French and German. Beginning in 1976, he is part of the following bands: Festival of Friends, Monty, Beau Flash, Spectacle and Boys. He has toured most major North American cities – Montreal (Club Soda, The Spectrum, Metropolis), Quebec City (Le Dagobert, Festival D’ete), Toronto, Boston, Chicago etc. In 1986 he recorded his first solo LP entitled “Le meilleur est a venir” for the ISBA record label, produced by Montreal rock legends Walter Rossi and Garry Moffatt (April Wine). Four singles are released from this album and chart in the top ten across Quebec and French Canada. He receives top honors at the 1986 Talcan Awards for best Canadian vocalist and best Canadian composer. He receives nomination for best new artist at the 1986 Gala de L’ADISQ. Since that time, he has been busy in the recording studio and on television, working as a musician, singer, and producer on many projects, with such artists as France D”amour, Garou, Mitsou, Martine St-Claire,Jean-Claude St-Pierre, Walter Rossi, Jeff Nystrom, Maude Grenier, Judy Ann, Louise Sauve, Collage and Wayne Smart. He is now working on a new album of original songs and is on tour across Quebec. He is a natural performer, at ease on stage. Be it his natural singing voice, or impressive guitar playing, he will surely capture your attention. His simplicity and honesty come across in his connection with his audience. His new acoustic show allows us into a world of intimacy and warmth. With his original and surprising arrangements, we rediscover hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
