Portrait of Solace and Fury
Hailing from Santa Monica, 28 year old lead singer, songwriter, arranger and producer Amber Tisue composes music drenched with sultry vocals entwined among soothing cello lines and dark rhythms. Her music is heart-wrenching, warm, melancholy, reflective, but most of all- moving.

"Writing music is a cathartic experience for me... I generally write about the things that move me or how I perceive society, my emotions, and people's interactions. I have been told I am an 'old soul' and I tend to find myself trying to make sense of the world around me."

Solace and Fury integrates acoustic instruments with electronic loops and environmental sound effects. Their goal is to create a world within each song, and Amber's B.A. in Music Recording and Sound Artistry only contribute to the cerebral yet accessible sound of "Solace and Fury." Amber began writing songs at the age of 13 on her mother's guitar, and was raised on such artists as Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt and Carlos Santana. Her personal musical influences cross various genres, from folk, to electronica and world music. She has been compared to artists such as Sarah Mclachlan, Jeff Buckley, Cat Power, Beth Orton, Ani Difranco, Portisehead, and Tori Amos. The band hosts a roster of incredible musicians: Bryan Solon on drums and percussion, Andretta Tuten on violin, and an ever changing roster of famous composers from the Bay Area and Los Angeles. A good friend described their music as "winter on the east coast..." They took it as a compliment. So take a listen, light some candles and drink some wine... but they're best loud and in the dark...
