James Macon has the special gift of making people smile, sing along, and have a good time and you will always find him somewhere playing to a crowd because it is the equivalent of the blood flowing through a persons veins that simply must be.
Macon, as he’s known by friends and fans, has traveled all over but it is Texas that is home and you can clearly hear the combination of Red Dirt Country, Texas Blues, southern rock, and then add "the storyteller" that makes for a show that crowds really enjoy. If you like Stoney LaRue, Eric Church, or maybe a little Allman Brothers or Jim Croce, then it's likely you'll find out that you will also like Macon. "To all the many folks who have been there along the way and to great fans who continue to be my biggest motivation thank you all. I hope to see you soon where we will share some good times, some music and some fun!" – JM
Macon spent a lot of his younger years studied the heroes of the era while crooning along in harmony, whether it be rock, pop or country. Some of his favorite artists were, and still are, Waylon Jennings, James Taylor, Jim Croce, and the Allman Brothers. Somewhere in the mid 1990s, entertaining became a way of life and he picked, grinned, and plowed his way forward toward becoming the musician he had always dreamt of being.
Macon is currently collaborating with songwriters along with several seasoned musicians on his next CD which is due out in early fall. 2011 is quickly become a year of bigger and better and more that includes upcoming new music along with new videos and another tour that begins this summer so here's to making some great Texas music and new friends and fans along the way this year.
