Cortney DeAugustine got her first drum set at age 12 and was immediately hooked for life. She was the drum department manager at Guitar Center in the San Francisco
Bay Area when she met Frank Hannon of Tesla. She sent a cassette demo of “When The Levee Breaks” to Frank and was called to audition for “Moon Dog Mane”. Cortney got the gig and became the drummer of Moon Dog Mane at the age of 22 and was immediately signed to Eureka/Polygram records. The band toured the U.S. with many rock icons including Judas Priest, Cinderella, and Def Leppard supporting the album “Turn It Up”, which had two Top-20 Billboard singles, “Turn It Up” and “I Believe”. The band was featured on television, radio, and rock magazines throughout the nation including several feature articles in “Metal Edge Magazine”.
In addition, Cortney is a multi instrumentalist and vocalist who continued to enhance her background while learning recording and engineering in order to spend more time composing for her own band, “Fear The Days”. Cortney has composed, produced, engineered, and performed all instruments and vocals on many of her own tracks while putting a live 3 piece lineup together performing lead vocals and drums. Fear The Days has supported many great artists throughout California including Winger, Y&T, Pat Travers, Robin Trower, ASIA, L.A. Guns, Frank Hannon, and more.
Cortney also plays drums with “Barking At Flies” and Retrospect Records Artist “Heist” featuring former “Montrose” front-man, Paul Holdgate. Cortney has also performed and recorded with other great artists including Tesla, George Lynch, Hootie & The Blowfish, Tom Kiefer, and The Frank Hannon Band.
