Fiercely talented songbird KIM WEMPE'S star is definitely on the rise! A 2010 EAST COAST MUSIC AWARD winner (Galaxie Rising Star) and nominee (Female Solo Recording of the Year), Kim is set to release her highly anticipated new record, "Painting with Tides", later this year.

Known for playing toe-tapping rhythms and a wide range of styles from soulful blues melodies to jazzy folk tunes, the new record reaches into roots rock and was crafted with the help of producer/engineer Charles Austin (Joel Plaskett, Matt Mays, Buck 65) along with Joel Plaskett, Chris "Old Man" Luedecke and Thom Swfit. In the meantime, her song Out of My Closet from the Where I Need to Be EP continues to climb the charts at Ourstage.com.

Emerging as one of the freshest, most unique performers on the Canadian music scene today, Kim has toured her music across the country, winning over legions of new fans. From her Saskatchewan prairie roots to her new found home in Nova Scotia, she's definitely learning the lay of the land, and it resounds in her music.
