Traveling from age6 – 11 with the Ohio gifted children’s youth choir. Soon after he began writing his own lyrics & material. Creating such songs as “Touch’Me” ,”By My Side” , and “Automatic” on his first demo, at age 15, produced by Moses “Mo Beats” Montgomery~ F.J.M. Production & David Ruxer~ “Butterfly Song Productions”. Under the management of Bernard Leigh ,“Big Nard” Productions, LaFate began an engagement singing the night club circuit in Ohio and surrounding areas. LaFate broke from Leigh to more personally stylize his sound, working with such local producers as Mr. Keith Ward & Brian George, participating in televised Miami Valley showcases. Graduating High School at age 16, at that point with over 250 songs written to his credit LaFate opted to forgo a scholarship in photography (O.I.P.&T. “Ohio Institute of Photography & Technology”) to relocate to Atlanta Georgia to work & pursue the study of music , Marvin McIntyre, (artist development) “Marvelous Enterprises”. Under the management of Terrance Hannah “Quarter Management”, LaFate worked briefly as a free lance writer affiliated with “Red Zone Entertainment”, “Triangle Sound Studio” and various other studios and producers in the Atlanta area , including Shawty Redd “Beat Bangerz Ent”. During which time LaFate wrote such songs as “Im Pissed”, and “Eve~L”. Widening his artistic focus to include television and stage he participated in Fox’s “American Idol”, MTV’s urban comedy show “Yo Mamma”, and Bad Boy Entertainment’s, “Diddy’s Making The Band”. In late2006 LaFate appeared with Atlanta radio personality Wanda Smith in V-103’s “Wanda Smith& Friends” Live and Uncensored , and a tribute to the memory of “Gerald Levert” the stage show. Currently LaFate is working independently as a singer/songwriter, and can be seen on the Atlanta club circuit. He hopes to soon record his debut album.
