"Risks are an exciting part of life, some performers sit back and watch and others like myself, say why not and go for it." Meet Nicole Navarro, she's passionate, humble and without fear takes on any challenges thrown in her path.
Nicole has written and co-written numerous songs. "Writing music is my escape from the craziness of life." "I believe that all the things that we go through shape us into the amazing people we are today and my diary, is my music.
A country girl with a dream from a small town of Cave Junction, Oregon. She's been singing since she could walk, but didnt start performing on her own till her early teens. At 12, she began to perform at different events and every weekend traveled to sing in different bars. "I loved every minute of it and thrived for more". By 18, she started traveling to different cities and states with her six piece band performing at all kinds of venues. She's opened and performed aside various artists from Heidi Newfield to Darryl Worley.
Nicole is on the music journey she has always known she was destined to do and she thrives for more. "I have always known that this was my path, it doesnt matter how big the venue I am performing at, I always give it my all and rock it on stage." says Nicole.
One thing that Nicole has always kept a strong perspective on is that It doesnt matter whether she is singing to 50 people or 500,000. Her goal is not just to reach one person but every single fan there. That is trully what her passion is, for her fans, because she knows as a fan how music helps her and makes her feel. "I wouldn't be where I am today without my fans, they are very important to me, and they deserve the best show everytime.
"I am definately different than alot of other performers, I am not afraid of being myself on or off stage. Alittle attitude and spunk is good for us. If all performers just stood in one spot on stage then music wouldnt be as creative and exciting as it is today.
Not only is music Nicole's passion in life, it is her family too. Nicole is the youngest in her family, the only girl with four older brothers. Losing her oldest brother David from cancer in 2010, she has taken another outlook on each day that goes by. "I miss him alot, we all do, but one thing I know for sure is that he is not in pain anymore and is at peace now. Everytime I sing, I sing for him and I follow my dreams even more eagerly now, because he didnt get the chance to." NIcole's brother David was not the first in the family to fight that disease. Her mother Debra, also fought the same battle and survived when Nicole was only the age of 13. "It was tough, I had to put my needs aside and be the mother figure for my brothers because my mother was sick, but we made it through and we are stronger as a family now. The one thing Is never to take life for granted, you trully never know what tomorrow brings."(Nicole)
NIcole has competed and succeeded in different competitions through out the years from Nashville Star, to Colgate Country Showdown and American Idol. She finds that even though most of these venues are a get fame quick lane she takes a different aspect on it. "I really enjoy competing not just to try to advance but because it keeps a performer on their toes. Alittle competition is good for the soul and having nerves are what give shows that extra excitement."
Nicole has recorded one mastered album "This side of the Tracks" and is currently working on her next one.
