Portrait of Stephanie Schneiderman
“Dangerous Fruit reveals a confident singer boasting a collection of torchy techno pop in the vein of Zero 7 or Morcheeba… the result is a polished album that feels fully realized and amplifies the drama and sophistication..” -Washington Post

Six solo albums, two collaborative albums, three music production credits, several film and
stage roles and the creation of a wildly successful concert series to benefit refugees in
Uganda—Yes, trying to pin down Stephanie Schneidermanto any one genre, talent or discipline
is next to impossible. And while Stephanie's latest effort, her sixth solo release called
Dangerous Fruit retains the rootsy flair, distinctive vocals and intricate songwriting that have
solidified her as one of the NW's premier artists, the album also, unsurprisingly, launches her
sound in a completely new, uncharted direction.

The catalyst for this is her musical partnership with renown electronic musician/producer/DJ—
Keith Schreiner (Dahlia, Auditory Sculpture, Grammy-winning artists Jeff Trott, Sheryl Crow
and Dr. Dre/Eminem's producer Mike Elizondoas well as Banco de Gaia, Corinna Rep
and Minnie Driver). The result is a gorgeous recording that transcends genre and defies
convention—an 11 song compilation that artfully combines pop, trip hop, soul, electronica and
folk and is a testament to the magic that can happen when a unique collaboration hits
its stride.

Stephanie's solo career began with a coveted spot in the 1999 Lilith Fair. Since then she has
earned extensive NW radio play, a devout following and multiple appearances with some the
nations top touring acts- including Hall and Oates, Five For Fighting, Chicagoand Ben Taylor.

Stephanie has gained widespread acclaim and exposure with her collaborative project, Dirty
Martini (www.dirtymartinimusic.com). Joined by fellow gifted songwriters McKinley & Lara
Michell, Dirty Martini is one of Portland's buzz bands. They released their
sophomore album in late 2006 called Tea and Revengeto critical acclaim and in 2007
headlined festivals both locally and regionally.

In October and November of 2007 Stephanie founded and produced Voices for Silent
Disasters (www.voicesforsilentdisasters.com), Portland's first humanitarian concert series, Voices
for Silent Disasters featured 37 of Portland's top musical acts through 10 concerts across the River
City. She raised $75,000 for Mercy Corps in the communities in northern Uganda.

Stephanie has produced three CDs featured as soundtracks for a series of popular children's
videos. OyBaby, OyBaby 2, That Baby DVDand the accompanying CDs have sold more than
40,000 combined units (www.thatbabydvd.com).

Her musical accomplishments also
extend to film, TV and beyond. In
addition to placing songs on the
WB's primetime show Jack and Jill,
and the title track for the movie Kat
and Allison, three songs from the
album Touch Down were used in the
WB show Felicity.

And while music is her first love,
Stephanie has enjoyed success as
an actress as well. From her small
role in Men of Honor, starring Robert
De Niroand Cuba Gooding Jr. to
leads in several local productions,
she has always shined in the spotlight.
Her most recent nod combined music
and theater in Profile Theater
Project'sencore production of the hit
Broadway musical The Full Monty.

With a fresh approach to everything
she does, Stephanie continues to
churn out some of the finest stuff
around. And if her recent projects are
any evidence, the best is yet to come.
