Portrait of Aaron Stephens
Aaron Stephens wants to be a part of the new music era. A time where people care more about the songs and musicianship of an artist then they care about what he/she did last night. Aaron picked up the guitar at thirteen and hasn't been able to put it down since. After getting John Mayer's album "Heavier Things" for Christmas Aaron decided that he didn't want to just be a guitar player but a singer/songwriter as well. By sixteen Aaron Stephens was playing shows weekly around his hometown McAllen, Texas. After a couple years of playing at various venues around the Rio Grande Valley Aaron Stephens decided to move to San Marcos, Texas where he could attend college and be close to the Austin music scene. He now plays shows regularly throughout the area and is known for getting the audience’s attention with his soulful voice and guitar playing. Aaron’s sound is a unique mix of soul and folk and he strongly believes that every great song has plenty of hooks. He has been compared to artists John Mayer, Ben Harper, and Dallas Green (City and Colour) and he has a new sound that's definitely worth a listen.
