Portrait of Pauline Pisano
Pauline Pisano has been receiving praise for her profoundly unusual voice from critics and fans alike. An edgy romantic singer/songwriter with an unexpected pop/rock twist," she has pipes that are rare and impressive with a range that sails easily from the basement to the heavens." (Debra Donahue, the Cape-May Times). However, it is Pauline’s unique sense of story and melody that have led her to win several national and international songwriting awards including The Father Fame Award, The American Theater Wing’s Rising Stars Award and the honor of being featured soloist at Alice Tully Hall.

A talent from an early age, Pauline was training with music professionals from New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, and Emerson by 11, writing ballads at 14 and accepted into the famous LaGuardia H.S. of Performing Arts by her teen years. She originally gained press and recognition for the award winning EP, In The Middle which helped launch her first solo tour, The Fire in 2009.

This year Pauline and her band, Rich Mercurio (drums) and Arthur Sadowsky (bass) will release her third album, The Light Show, with guest performances from guitarists Marc Ribler and Alan Pisano. The Light Show includes darkly melodic tunes like “Your House,” catchy pop declarations “This Jungle” about the harsh, product-driven reality of the music business and folk-rock narratives like “My Bluff” which tells the story of Pauline’s time driving up 89A in the Phoenix desert. Pauline describes album’s title as the light reportedly seen in the brain as neurons fire off during creative or inspiring moments of musical activity.

With the release of The Light Show, Pauline marks her most mature and musically complex album to date. Pauline has recorded for the likes of Vitamin C and has appeared at Joe's Pub, The Bitter End, the Knitting Factory and Rockwood Music Hall as well as countless other venues and festivals around the country.
