Portrait of Perry and The Travellers
We are a genuine southern rock group formed in late spring of 2004 in a little remote place called Hammarö of Sweden. The 4 original members Andy, Danny, Perry & Dallen have been making music sine teenage years. So as time pass’s on, some things change. We’ve managed to get the mud off our boots, and the dust off our hats, and fine tuned this band for any old honky tonk to play.
Our attitude lifestyle is what keeps the "south" in southern rock music alive in us. And is known for it’s right on "I don’t give a damn" attitude. Which lets us make this music that could take you back 30 years or more to when that fine sound of Southern rock music exploded all over the world. The band (Perry, Andy, Danny, Snake & Dave) influences are first and foremost "Lynyrd skynyrd", and bands like "The Who", "Stones and Credence".
We all have our own sets of roots in rock & southern rock music since before puberty, and knew we all would be making music for the rest of our lives. Now we've been told that our style of Southern Rock, is some good old fashion bar kicking, boot stamping ass music that can show why it re-invite’s the fabulous tunes of the 70’s into popular music culture again.
Since 2004 the band has played countless dates in clubs & festivals in Sweden, Norway. And in Germany, Austria, Holland and Belgium with a spot on the 2006 "Hallelujah Tour".
Spring 2005 we released an EP; "Max light" recorded at "Studio Cobra" in Stockholm, with three songs including the big hit "Streetlight". After some Swedish radio airtime the record received a fair share of good reviews, and the EP that was originally to be used for promotional purpose, ended up being sold in local record stores in Karlstad.
In early 2006 the band recorded a set of six songs in Åmål at "Dead End Production", and recorded an additional three songs at "Dust Studios" in Karlstad, for a September 2006 release of our album "Hard Lovin" on HGM records. November 2007, We all (Perry and The Travellers) headed in to the studio, pitch up some tent’s, rolled out our beds, and started recording our second masterpiece at "Leon Studios" outside of Karlstad, 9 songs were recorded before we took the summer to write 5 more songs for a full length LP. Snake’s a musician of many talents, he joined the band in January the 8th 2008. His adding keyboards / harmonicas / slide guitar / backing vocal are a great asset to the band.
Dave joined us in June 2008. And he has the drum; he’s confident, and compatibility that sure does bring the feelings that the band is complete. So now after several months in our rehearsal studio, we moved camp back to the studio to finish recording the remaining songs for the new album "Other side of the bridge" that will be released 17 june 2009. After the album was completed. We were sad to say goodbye our bass player & long time friend Danny. We will miss him! Now we’d like for you all to welcome in Tim Flynth the same we have. He’s a fine bass player that bring's the music to another level. So if you like good old rock with wicked harmony’s and melody’s, and feel that the popular music of today needs a little kick in the ass?
Tune into Perry and The Travellers! I promise! You will be re-born!
