Dave Acreman is a singer/songwriter from Oxford, England. He has recently recorded an EP under the studio name " Manjam Monkey" with long time collaborator and friend , Ross Andrews who co-wrote Kill the Nation and provides additional lead guitar to the tracks on the EP. Their combined musical influences include Jimi Hendrix, Guns and Roses Led Zepplin, The Stone Roses, The Kinks, Nick Drake, The Beatles and Bob Dylan. Hopefully this influences show through in our work and yet we retain our own distinctive sound! Of the EP tracks Melancholy was described on the unsigned chart show as "a seductive song" and has recieved comparisons to some of John Williams work in reviews, which is high praise!Kill the Nation has been compared to songs by Love and Rockets and the Stone Roses. Gone deals with the harsh reality of loss of a loved one and has been described by fellow ourstagers as an "amazing song". Kill the Nation has also won a Golden Auddy award for being a song that professional musicians and acts consider to be a potential hit single The EP "Debut" was released in May 2010 on Itunes/Amazon/Napster etc and contains 4 tracks . Melancholy, Kill the Nation, Gone, and Never Mind the Rain. The tracks Kill the Nation and Gone are to be included in a film score in the near future. Dave is also a featured artist on Independant Musicians Radio (Imradio.com) and has recieved over 3000 plays in the last year.
