David first gained the confidence to pick up a guitar after graduating high school. As a teenager, he was greatly influenced by the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, and Neil Young, but was bitten by the grunge bug when bands like Nirvana, weezer, and the Smashing Pumpkins ruled the airwaves. Discovering artists such as Big Star, the Posies, and Elliott Smith, he rounded out his singer/songwriter sound with honest, and sometimes, self depricating lyrics, beautiful melodies, and raw, fiery guitar playing.
After playing aroung the New Jersey/New York City metro area in his powerpop band, Snowball 37, he decided to indulge the singer songwriter side of his warped personality, and began writing quirky Americana/Folk songs, the going out and performing them in the same clubs he graced with Snowball 37.
Still with Snowball 37, David has traveled the country playing small bars and large venues playing his psuedo americana tunes, and is winning audiences over one person at a time, with his "anyone can do this" approach. He has recorded at legenary studios such as Ardent Music and Sun Records in Memphis, and has opened for the likes of Bruce Springsteen, in the dank, dark clubs where the Boss often makes surprise appearances.
Catch him when you can, with Snowball 37, or solo, you'll be sure to leave the club with a song or two burned into your brain.
