After nearly a decade of playing and writing music together, Sally Fierce and Lyn Marie released their independent debut album, Nov 2009, Down At The River. The album unites the talents of Chris Craig on D’Jembe, Rick Singleton on Upright Bass, Jessica Greene on percussion and Andrea Panico Back-up Vocals. The songs are written by Sally Fierce or are co-written with Lyn Marie. Sally and Lyn have distinctively different styles. Sally is originally from Muncie, IN coming from a gospel background and Lyn originally from Virginia Beach, VA leaning more toward a Southern Rock sound. When they met in Austin, TX and played as “FierceMarie”, the blending of their influences along with the blues and Texas Hill Country music, gave them a unique and refreshing groove all of their own. Their new album, Down At The River showcases this diversity and dock-side sound from the song “Everything”, which is a beautiful love ballad with gospel tones, to “Headin' Back to Austin”, which has the central Texas drive and blues feel. “Secret” has a nice jazzy style while “Skin 'N Bones” brings the blues and Southern Rock tones to life. The title track, “Down At The River”, sets the experience for the record which will take you to the dock while drinking your favorite beverage with your best buds. The entire album is the collection of only the best original songs written in the first decade from the duo. The catchy lyrics and a groovin' style make you love this solid album from start to finish. Sally and Lyn have captured all ages of fans and have won various songwriting contests and acoustic showcases. By fan demand for a cd, they made a whirlwind recording trip to Nashville giving the album a nice live feel. “One of the things that is important to us while making music is to get people movin to the beat and yet still be able to talk to the people that they came with”, say’s Lyn. Sally adds, “We just love to play music and try to bring others into the experience we are enjoying and hope that they walk away feeling good". The two are looking forward to promoting the album, Down At The River, next year at festivals, wineries, contests and other events with additional musical talents joining them occasionally to round out the sound bringing a fresh and ever growing trend to the duo.
