In the short time since her arrival upon the Edmonton music landscape, Alice Kos has made a strong impression with a combination of solid musicianship and songwriting. Unwilling to compromise and determined to put her best foot forward, she has surrounded herself with group of seasoned professionals with impeccable pedigrees.
In the process of attaining a diploma in Composition from Grant MacEwan University, Alice honed her musical skills and developed a large repertoire of original songs. Though confident she would find a job in the music industry, Alice found herself working for an insurance broker for three long, uninspiring years.
Fortunately, the guitar rescued Alice from her cubicle and restored her true passion. In 2007, she began taking lessons from Everett LaRoi (Manraygun, The Guaranteed, Idyl Tea). Alice began writing again, and before long she was recording demos in Everett’s basement studio. The notion of recording an album became a reality.
Alice Kos’s forthcoming full-length album will feature Everett LaRoi on electric guitar, Tom Murray (Old Reliable, Manraygun, The Guaranteed) on bass, Scott Zubot (100 Mile House, The Stringbean Quartet) on mandolin and fiddle, and Mike Silverman (Old Reliable, Mark Davis, Shuyler Jansen, Dub Vulture) on drums and percussion.
