Austin Jennings was born September 23rd, 1984 in a fairly large city called Huntsville, Alabama. "Well, fairly large for Alabama..." Austin's family wasn't full of musicians, but music was always present in his upbringing.
Austin had a great love for music from a very early age. From dancing to mom's Paula Abdul, to singing along with Whitney Houston, Austin loved filling his young ears with sweet melody.
"I remember riding in the truck with my dad, and getting pretty pissed that the tape player was malfunctioning, preventing dad and I from listening to Steve Winwood's ‘Roll With It.’"
Austin's love for music only grew through his teen years. Playing in his school band as a percussionist, and rattling his electric drum set at home, gave him foundation and understanding of a song's structure.
"I always loved music. I always had music playing when I could. I didn't decide I wanted to be a professional musician, though, until I was introduced to a fellow named Jason Mraz. He changed my view on my entire life. His music made ME feel I could do anything I put my mind to."
After this early adulthood realization, Austin packed his belongings in his car, and drove 2000 miles to San Diego, California. Since December 2004, Austin continues to toil daily in hopes of a bright, successful future doing what he loves most, singing and writing songs.
