Inspired by the best moments of punk rock history, Budapest based three-piece Bankrupt deliver a unique blend of oldschool and newschool melodic punk rock, tinged with some punkabilly, rockandroll punk, and garage rock. Regardless of what hype is going on right now on what was earlier called the punk rock scene, Bankrupt stick to the music they like, and continue writing songs that sound the way punk rock was meant to be.
This is the sound of Riot City and it sweeps you away with the speed of a rocket
Hence the title of their 4th album, Rocket To Riot City, released on local label PiaRRecords
During the 12 years of their existence, Bankrupt have played about 300 concerts, including several big festivals, in Hungary and nearby countries like Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Serbia while their music also got a friendly reception in other parts of Europe, and in the USA. Both their 3rd (Shorter Than Danny DeVito) and 2nd albums (Bad Hair Day) were welcomed by a 10/10 rating by the prominent German punk/hc portal southspace.de
Bankrupt is proud to have supported internationally recognised acts like the Toy Dolls (UK), The Creepshow (CAN), Randy (SWE), D.O.A. (CAN), The Real McKenzies (CAN)and many others.
