Loud, raw, sloppy, catchy, powerful, all heart. Lack of real technical skill isn't keeping Biggy and the Hive from being the greatest rock-n-roll band on the planet. There's no political message or strong sense of fashion, despite being the best looking band in town.

The first band I saw was Biggy Stardust and His Wretched Hive. A Charlotte area punk band who knew how to seriously thrash and played actual punk, I can’t wait for this band to come back around.

The Milestone was rockin’ and the beer was flowin’ last Friday night. The night was kicked off by Razorkat, a band that consisted of all girls with the exception of Jason Ward. They are a band to experience and it was refreshing to see the girls bring it. I’ve seen Jason numerous times in the past so I knew he would have fists in the air and be taking no prisoners. (7 Seconds, Not Just Boys Fun, comes to mind). Next up was Dielectrics from Wilmington NC. These guys surprised me. I am not usually one for getting into a band the first time I see them, but in this case, you would have had to be dead not to have been sucked into their infectious brand of straight forward rock n roll. At this point, everyone, including myself were properly “warmed up” for the headliners. Biggy Stardust and His Wretched Hive stormed the stage, complete with attitude and bravado. They played sloppy and with energy to burn. I do not know who was having more fun, the audience or the band! Every time I see these guys, I always think, this is even better than the last time and honestly cannot imagine how I could enjoy them more, but I DO and DID!!!!!!! It takes a lot to impress me but Biggy and His Hive deliver the goods that I need for my rock n roll “fix”. Overall, I would have to say, Biggy sure does know how to put together a great lineup for a kickass night of rock n roll. BIGGY STARDUST AND THE WRETCHED HIVE: Bad Excuse for Bad Manners: LP Ten songs of rough and ragged garage rock. Sounds a lot like a bunch of the stuff that came out on Junk, Devil Doll, and other labels toward the end of the ‘90s. Our only requirement is a pa system and 2 microphones and mic stands. No need for fancy lights or monitors. We will play old school punk rock style if that's all your venue can accommodate.
