Broken Ride is an unstoppable Canadian Modern-Rock band with driving, passionate, and catchy tunes similar to the likes of Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and Bush. They are a combination of everything the everyday music fan loves to hear and will actually back up this statement at their live shows.
Broken Ride just recently played at one of Canada's Premier Music Festivals in Toronto - Canada Music Week, in March 2010. They arrived with one scheduled gig and left with four, not to mention countless other valuable experiences and meetings.
As cheesy as it may sound, Broken Ride got it’s name from promising to continue to drive forward, even when “the ride is broken“. However, in only 3 years and after almost 10 car accidents, towed-away vehicles, unsalvageable lemons, and broken down tour vans, the band has definitely earned the name.
Formed in Calgary at the end of 2006 by vocalist Graham Furber, drummer Darren Falk, guitarist Kyle Heese, and bassist Dylan Roberts, Broken Ride rehearsed in the basement and performed at any show possible, desperately scrounging up funds in order to try and get in the studio. More than two years after countless gigs, relentless empty promises, inexperienced managers, unimpressive recordings and personal life-altering experiences, the band acquired some luck with a suitable second guitarist named Ron Tarrant, having scouted and contacted the band at a national battle of the bands competition.
Shortly after rounding out the handsome 5-piece ensemble, they headed to Winnipeg to record a 3-track demo with Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantal Kreviazuk, McMaster & James) and Dale Penner (Nickelback, Loverboy), mastered by Grammy Award-winner Adam Ayan. The songs can be streamed directly on the Broken Ride myspace page

The band’s sound has been described as “Radio friendly and catchy as well! The singer (Graham Furber) has some chops!” - Graeme Reaper, Astral Media Radio, CJAY92
Broken Ride has taken full advantage of their opportunities in the past year, such as sharing the stage with Thornley, Armchair Cynics, and being invited to play at Better Than Fred’s (Grande Prairie, AB) Dec 23rd Party, which in the previous year invited bands such as State of Shock.
The band is currently looking for investors to help them record a full length album, as well as agents and managers to help them develop their career further. You can find Broken Ride on you tube and see their upcoming show schedule at
