“Why aren’t you singing your own songs?” For over 5 years, Cliff Cody has been a Music Row staffwriter—writing songs for other artists like Julie Roberts and Halfway to Hazard. But with his soulful voice and infectious personality on stage, fellow songwriters and music industry friends started asking that same question fans have been asking night after night. In 2009, Cliff answered the question with, “Why not?” Selling CD’s and t-shirts from the trunk of his car, he now plays over 150 dates a year from Ohio to the Florida Keys with a unique sense of humor and a killer voice that reaches the hearts of everyone who hears him sing. Cliff makes fast friends and forever fans and once you hear him, you become both. Cliff appears regularly at the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West and is a featured performer at the annual Key West Songwriter’s Festival. Cody wrote “Chasin’ Whiskey” which was recognized as a highlight of Julie Roberts’ album “Men and Mascara” by Rolling Stone Magazine and “Glad You’re Gone” on Halfway to Hazard’s sophomore album “Come On Time”, as well as placements on Fox and Lifetime Movie Network. Cliff lives with his wife of 12 years Amy Beck-Cody and daughter, Veronica in New Lexington, Ohio…a home that he sees way too little of.
