Coastal Eddy and the Breakers – What you’ve got here is just a sample of their music – just enough to whet your appetite for more. Here’s a band that can lay it down, shake it up and get you moving to their unique arrangements of songs you know you’ve heard –but not like this.
CEB is a blend of musicians and the musical styles of its members, reflecting their ends of the spectrum backgrounds. From the chugging rhythm section of Kevin and Joni who’s “in the pocket” groove and dynamically right on range keep the backbone of the tune from sliding out, to the master of the conga beat, Nico who tops it off with anything shaky or stringed..
Mitzy King brings her Texas-sized keyboard stylings to the plate to add her interpretation to each piece. Not interested in staying in the background, she uses learnings’ from extensive songwriting to flavor the batter of each tune with some southern style spices. Put that together with local travelling man Greg Kircher on guitars for an up front grinding out the hooks and reelin’ in the styles from Southern blues to tropical soul to classic rock tunes and you’ve got the hint of what this band can do.
Then there’s Eddy. Up front and bigger than life, he’s got more than just the pipes to top it off - he’s a show in himself. Hailing from the heart of the country and tempered by a long stretch in California, Eddy puts himself out there for every performance. Once you see and hear him
– you’ll never forget him.
So here it is, some track to get to know them – Coastal Eddy and the Breakers recorded as you’ll hear them – raw and ready to do tunes from heartfelt ballads to your favorite set your polyester pants on fire, butt-wigglin’ boogie woogie.
