DEEP BLACK VOID is a dark power-pop rock band from southwest VA formed in late summer of 2008. DEEP BLACK VOID is a dark power-pop rock band from southwest VA formed in late summer of 2008. Their current line-up has only been together for about two months, but the musicians that make up Deep Black Void are no strangers to music or the music industry. David Smith, lead vocalist and guitarist, has been producing, mixing, and writing music for several years now. As the leader of the group, David is a key part of the band from his hardworking, persistent attitude to his creativity; he helps Deep Black Void keep the identity that it carries today. Andrew Carter, guitarist and backing vocalist, and Shane Boles, bass, have been in several bands before joining with Deep Black Void in late September of 2008 and give the group a piece of their own creative / fun energy on stage and off. The newest addition to the band is drummer Brian Lytle, who has also played in several bands. Brian was the balancing factor that Deep Black Void needed to continue the band’s journey.
The band is currently working on their first album. It will be released soon. Stay tuned to Deep Black Void as they plan to tour the nation for the rest of 2009.
